Slip stitch oval placemat

This pattern for an oval placemat uses the beautiful Bosnian technique of slip stitch crochet. Some familiarity with the basics of crochet is recommended (slip stitch, single/double/half-double crochet etc) but all techniques are demonstrated in detail. I highly recommend watching the video for this pattern on my Youtube channel (https://youtu.be/6T3dLP5NnGY) as you work through IF you are not familiar with the Bosnian slip stitch short rows method. Three different borders are demonstrated, including the overlapping leaf motif shown. All you need is some worsted weight cotton and a 5mm crochet hook!
